Michaela Howell, 16, went from having her world turned upside down to winning an award for academic achievement in less than a year, with help from Shineforth. Michaela came to Shineforth after being hospitalized three times for mental health problems and being deemed “out of control.”

Shineforth Horticulture Program Growing Fast

The Dominion Foundation’s Environmental Stewardship Committee gave 
Charterhouse School’s horticulture program a $10,000 grant for the construction of raised garden beds. Volunteers from CarMax and Bermuda Hundred United Methodist Church worked together to construct and install all 20 beds behind the greenhouse on Shineforth’ Richmond campus.
