UMFS recognized for expanding Virginia System of Care

At their statewide conference in Roanoke, the Virginia Office of Comprehensive Services awarded UMFS the Precious Metal Award for leadership in expanding a Systems of Care (SOC) program in central Virginia. UMFS partnered with Richmond City, Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights, Henrico County, and Goochland County to build a parents support partner program and an infrastructure for a regional intensive care coordinator coaching group. Families who have gone through the systems of care program had a 20 percent increase in self-efficacy scores.
