November is Adoption Awareness Month
November 8, 2016
UMFS is an unwavering champion for children in need of permanency through adoption. Join us in celebrating adoption month.
As of June 2016, there were 111,820 children in foster care in the United States waiting to be adopted according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
UMFS helped find adoptive homes for 34 children in 2014-2015 and 24 children in 2015-2016. So far this fiscal year 10 adoptions have been finalized with an anticipated 30 more adoptions to come!
Through the Adoption Through Collaborative Partnerships grant, UMFS works with over 100 children per year to help them find permanency through adoption.
