Substitute Culinary Arts Teacher

UMFS is a growing organization and is looking to fill a Substitute Culinary Arts Teacher in Richmond, VA to support the Charterhouse School.
Plan, organize and deliver an appropriate instructional culinary arts program in a safe and supportive learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop skills and knowledge. Responsible for student record administration, curriculum development/delivery and classroom management.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Fully licensed by the Virginia Department of Education to teach in the areas to which they are assigned. Must hold a valid teaching certificate in Family and Consumer Sciences with focus in Culinary Arts, or a Culinary Arts Degree, or a minimum of 5 years experiences as a chef, or food service manager or higher position in the culinary arts industry, be eligible to pass a culinary certification exam within a three years of employment. Teachers who are hired with a provisional teaching license must pass all requirements within the three year time frame.
The individual must be flexible, caring, and understanding for students in an alternative educational setting. They will also be responsible for integration of Future Career and Community Leaders of America, the student organization. Teachers who have completed two years of successful teaching experience in an accredited public or non-public school outside the state of Virginia may be exempt from assessment requirements. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGULATIONS
Hold or be eligible to hold a Virginia Teaching License with proper endorsement(s). Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record.
