Hunter Helping Where He Can
May 13, 2020
UMFS Charterhouse School student Hunter loves to lend a helping hand, which is one of many reasons he was so fond of his internship with the UMFS maintenance team. Hunter earned his internship through the Charterhouse School Applied Curriculum Program, and each week his peers and UMFS staff alike looked forward to Hunter’s golf cart and trailer showing up at their door to collect recycling.
But when schools closed, Hunter’s internship came to an abrupt halt. The situation, however, would not deter this young man’s intrepid initiative, and he decided to take his talents to the streets of his own neighborhood.
“When I got home from a meeting this morning, Hunter had his UMFS work shirt on,” said Hunter’s mother, who snapped the photo. “He said he was going to clean our road since he couldn’t recycle at UMFS.”
Hunter sets an incredible example and reminds us that adaptability, flexibility, and resiliency can help guide us through even the most uncertain situations.
