Become a Foster Parent
It takes RAIN to make a RAINBOW
Being a foster parent to a child with behavioral or emotional issues isn’t easy, but foster parents see the positives in these kids. It can become one of the best things you ever do in your life.
Find Room in Your Heart to Help
The kids placed in UMFS’ Treatment Foster Care are the ones having the hardest times. Many have been in the system 8+ years with multiple placements. That is why they need treatment foster care instead of regular foster care. As a foster parent, you represent hope and someone they can count on.
Foster parents come from all walks of life: They’re teachers, nurses, social workers, book keepers, chefs and more. They are people who have realized that they have room in their homes, room in their schedules and room in their hearts for a child in need.
We Are With You the Entire Way
In the UMFS Treatment Foster Care Program, you are never on your own. You are part of a village of foster parents and expert staff, and you benefit from an exceptional network of services that includes:
- 24-hour on-call support.

- A team approach to make the right match.
- Hands-on experiential foster parent training

The most challenging way you can make a difference might be the most rewarding. It’s a big step and you may have your doubts, but, in the end, you will be part of a bigger purpose.
