On November 8, UMFS thanked five supporters for their collective dedication to the mission by awarding them Guardian Awards. The Guardian Award recipients were: Foundation Supporter-Richmond Unite, Corporate Supporter-The Mecklenburg Sun newspaper, Volunteer Leadership-William C.

  • Introducing the Child & Family Healing Center

    Richmond, VA- United Methodist Family Services’ (UMFS) treatment center has a new name—Child & Family Healing Center. The new name takes effect immediately and a celebration event will be held on October 14 to kick off the change. “We wanted a name that reflected what we are doing in our intensive treatment center,” said Greg Peters, CEO of UMFS.

    On Friday, September 9, members of 29 non-profits across Richmond gathered at the Richmond Convention Center to hear Sir Richard Branson announce the rankings of the first Richmond Unite charity campaign. With 4,343 votes, United Methodist Family Services (UMFS) was ranked number one and will receive the largest portion of the proceeds when fundraising is complete in December. “We are very excited to be the top ranking charity for the campaign,” said Greg Peters, CEO of UMFS.
